We are delighted to announce that Saffron has been nominated for the German Design Award 2018 in the Excellent Communication Design category. An international jury will select prize-winners in October.
The German Design Award is the premium international prize of the German Design Council, and aims at discovering, presenting and awarding top-quality products and communication design that are in their own way ground-breaking in the international design landscape. Since its premiere in 2012, the German Design Award has become one of the best-known design competitions in the world.
Saffron has been nominated for both our refreshed visual identity and our new website.
Saffron Brand Consultants redesigned its own identity to make the combination of strategy and design visible in the physical and digital world.
To do so, Saffron imagined a process of discovery, from the inside to the outside. In collaboration with the Barcelona-based foundry Letterjuice, we developed a bespoke typeface, that visualised the interaction of the strategy in the inside with the design on the outside - emphasising furthermore the power of the intellectual outcome.
The identity is used throughout all touchpoints of the brand consultancy, from the stationery to presentations and communication as well as the website and other collaterals.
In the course of the design of its own identity, Saffron Brand Consultants revised its website as its main window to the world. The concept aims to offer a platform for Saffron’s strategic and creative output letting the content perform within a minimal structure and leaving space to tell a story and to discover content intuitively.
The website combines a simple grid based isometrical illustration style provoking intelligent visual effects, post-it colours inspired colour palette underlining the collaborative working approach and a powerful eclectic photography. All this creates a unique, quirky and essential Saffron style, giving a voice and a shape to the intangible.
